Después de varias semanas bastante al margen del blog y las redes sociales, volvemos al ataque! Y qué mejor comienzo que la Semana Cultural de la Lana en Guadalaviar (Teruel) que tendrá lugar desde el este lunes 25 al sábado 30. Una iniciativa del Ayuntamiento de Guadalaviar a quien agradecemos por haber confiado en Mundo Lanar para llevar a cabo la bonita idea de llenar el pueblo de lana y tintes naturales durante una semana repleta de talleres, exposiciones y demostaciones, que culminará con una Jornada Lanar de puertas abiertas. Felices pues de poder compartir de nuevo con un pueblo con tanta tradición trashumante como es Guadalaviar; de visitar de nuevo por su extraordinario Museo de la Trashumancia; de pasear por los increibles parajes naturales que rodean a esta pequeña y entrañable localidad; y sobretodo de reencontrarnos con la gente tan maja que participó en los talleres que dimos hace unos meses con motivo de la recreación de el Proceso de la Lana y del que os dejamos este video de Aragón en Abierto.
After several weeks quite far from this blog and from the social networking, we return to the attack! And what better start than the Cultural Week of the Wool in Guadalaviar (Teruel) which will take place from next Monday 25 untill the Saturday 30.. An initiative of the City of Guadalaviar to who we thank for trusting on us to carry out the idea of filling their pretty village of wool and natural dyes , in a week full of workshops, exhibitions and demostraciones, which will culminate on Saturday with the «Wool Day». So we are happy to share again with the local people Guadalaviar, a little town but with so large nomadic tradition; to visit again for your extraordinary Nomadic Museum; to walk around the incredible natural beauty which surrounds this small and charming town; and above all, to reconnect with the so nice people who participated in the workshops we gave a few months ago for the recreation of the Process of Wool, from whose experience we leave you this video made by the regional TV.
Una semana de talleres
La primera parte de la Semana Cultural de la Lana –de lunes a viernes– está centrada en talleres para niños –por las mañanas– y para mayores –por las tardes–, con los que aprenderemos a hilar, teñir, tejer y hacer fieltro. Cinco días interactuando con la población local y recreándonos en las posibilidades creativas que nos ofrece una fibra tan versátil como es la lana. Nos parece genial la idea de Guadalaviar de dedicar tantos esfuerzos a la formación, ya que la mayoría de los eventos relacionados con el mundo de la lana se quedan entre el festejo, la nostalgia y la reflexión, y es como si la lana –y todo lo que implica– se metiera de vuelta en el cajón una vez terminada la fiesta. Y de este otro modo, es una forma de despertar el interés hacia la lana y de sembrar una semilla que poco a poco parece ir fructificando! Si os apetece participar en cualquiera de nuestros talleres, no tenéis más que llamar al Museo de la Trashumancia o al Ayuntamiento para reservar vuestra plaza!
Workshops during the week
The event is structured in two parts. The first one, which will take place from Monday to Friday, is focused on workshops for children during the morning, and adults during the evenings, designed to delve into the fascinating world of spinning, dyeing, weaving and felting. Five days of pure interaction with locals, enjoying around the creative possibilities offered by such a versatile fiber. It seems to us extraordinary the idea of Guadalaviar of orientating their woolen events towards training, as most of the events related to wool are among the celebration, nostalgia and reflection, and it’s like if we are putting the issue into the drawer once the party is over. And this other way, it is a way of arousing interest in wool and, somehow, as planting a seed that slowly seems to be bearing fruit! . In short, if you want to participate in any of our workshops, you have only to call to the Museum or to City Hall to reserve a place!
Jornada Lanar
Y como colofón de cinco días de intensa actividad, la mañana del sábado tendrá lugar la Jornada Lanar. Un evento pensado para dar a conocer el proceso de la lana y los tintes naturales y en el disfrutaremos de la demostración de esquila a tijera y máquina de manivela a cargo de míticos esquiladores de Guadalaviar; de la exposición sobre el proceso de la lana y las exhibiciones de tintes naturales e hilado tradicional con rueca y con huso a cargo de Mundo Lanar; de la muestra de los trabajos artesanales que hayan realizado los participantes en los talleres durante la semana; de un pequeño sorteo entre los participantes para amenizar la fiesta; de la tradicional bajada al río; de la exposición de fotografía lanar que nos ha cedido Jesús Garzón (Presidente de la Asociación de Trashumancia y Naturaleza, a quien aprovechamos para mandar un saludo y agradecerle todo el apoyo que nos brinda); entre otros aderezos… La jornada es de puertas abiertas, por lo que no hace falta hacer reserva. Os esperamos!
Woolen Day
And as culmination of five days of intense activity, during Saturday morning will take place the Wool Day. An event designed to raise awareness of the artisan process of wool and the importance of natural dyes, where we will have the pleasure to enjoy the demonstration of shearing with scissors and old machine activated by crank by two mythical Guadalaviar shearers; the exposition of the process of wool and the exhibit of natural dyes and traditional spinning by Mundo Lamar; the sample of the crafts made by the people who have participated in the workshops; a small giveaway among participants to liven up the party; the traditional descent to the river for having lunch; the photography exhibition dedicated to the Nomadic Culture which has been gently borrow to us by Jesus Garzón (President of the Association of Transhumance and Nature, to who we take advantage to send a greeting and thanks for all his support); among other seasonings … You do not need to make any reservation. We wait for you!
