Ya estamos de vuelta de la Semana Cultural de la Lana de Guadalaviar, una de las localidades m\u00e1s trashumantes de Espa\u00f1a y contaros acerca de este evento cien por cien lanero en el que hemos tenido el placer compartir con personas entra\u00f1ables y sensibles hacia el mundo de la lana<\/strong>, aunque se de aqu\u00ed la paradoja de que les resulte una fibra tan desconocida, siendo una materia prima tan arraigada en su historia y tradiciones. Y quiz\u00e1s sea esto un reflejo de que no era costumbre transformar la lana de forma local y, a menudo, ni siquiera de forma regional o nacional ya que, tras la esquila, gran parte ella se dirig\u00eda hacia otros territorios m\u00e1s interesados en incorporar -para variar- la mayor parte de su valor a\u00f1adido. He aqu\u00ed una de las grandes motivaciones de nuestro trabajo y el hecho nos llev\u00f3 hace ya algunos a\u00f1os a recuperar lana de reba\u00f1os locales, y la raz\u00f3n que nos mueve a formar para que la gente se anime a crear art\u00edculos textiles con esa materia prima de incre\u00edble potencial.<\/p>\n

We’re already back from the Cultural Wool Week in Guadalaviar, one of the most nomadic villages here in Spain. So now we can talk you about our experience in this wool event in which we have had the pleasure to share our knowledges with kids and adults, all of them very sensitive to the world of wool<\/strong>; although here we find the paradox that the wool is a commodity clearly rooted in its history and traditions and, at the same time, a so unknown fiber for them. And perhaps this is a reflection (as in many other towns with wool tradition) that it was not common transform the wool locally, not even at a regional or national level. So after shearing, much of this beautiful animal fiber was heading in to north in order to be processed, incorporating there the most part of their value added. Flanders is a good example! So this is one of the main motivations of our work and the fact that led us, some years ago, to start shearing, washing, carding, dyeing and spinning the wool from our local herds, and the reason that drives us to train people in order to encourage them to create textiles with this unique natural fiber, which market price today in Spain is between 80 cents and one euro and a half. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Talleres para peques<\/h3>\n

La Semana Cultural de la Lana ha inclu\u00eddo talleres matinales dirigidos a los m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes, brind\u00e1ndonos la oportunidad de convivir con un maravilloso grupo de peques (Vega, Miguel, Andrea, Pablo, \u00cdker, Ona, Maia, Celia\u2026) y no tan peques (Elia, Alba, Nadia, Soraya, Daniel, Alejandro, Jorge, Mark, Ana\u2026), a lo largo de una semana repleta de emociones que recordaremos con gran cari\u00f1o! Tanto por la creatividad y destrezas lanares que han demostrado (manipulando la lana con una soltura que ya muchos quisi\u00e9ramos), como por su simpat\u00eda, esp\u00edritu abierto, buena acogida, actitud colaborativa y afecto! Ten\u00edais que ver hilar a ni\u00f1os de 5-7 a\u00f1os con el m\u00e9todo pedag\u00f3gico de Mundo Lanar, en el que convertimos el acto de hilar en un sencillo y divertido juego colaborativo basado en la compenetraci\u00f3n entre dos personas.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Workshops for kids<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Cultural Wool Week included morning workshops for kids, which has given us the opportunity to share with a wonderful group of kids (Vega, Miguel, Andrea, Paul, Iker, Noa, Maia Celia …) and teens (Elia Alba, Nadia, Soraya, Daniel, Alexander, Gorge, Mark, Ana …), all along a week full of emotions that we will always remember fondly! As much for their creativity and skills that they have demonstrated (manipulating the wool with an enviable ease), as for their sympathy, openness, good reception, collaborative attitude and affection! You should have seen children of 5 five years old, spinning by hand with our teaching method in which we make this act a fun collaborative game based on the complicity and mutual understanding between two people regardless of age.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Y qu\u00e9 decir de los mayores (Paqui, Juani, Isabel, Mar\u00eda Trashumante, Mar\u00eda de Casa Mar\u00eda, Inma, Ana, Ana Mar\u00eda, Guadalupe, Bego\u00f1a, Clara, Humi…), quienes se han mostrado interesadas por todos y cada uno de los pasos del proceso de la lana y sin cuya predisposici\u00f3n, ganas e iniciativa, esta experiencia carecer\u00eda de sentido. Aprovechamos la ocasi\u00f3n para daros nuestra enhorabuena por el trabajo realizado y que sep\u00e1is que valoramos enormemente vuestro empe\u00f1o en que las nuevas generaciones se interesen por este apasionante tema.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jornada Lanar<\/span><\/h3>\n

Y como colof\u00f3n de una semana repleta de talleres, el s\u00e1bado tuvimos el placer de compartir, entre otros aderezos, nuestra exposici\u00f3n al aire libre sobre el Proceso de la Lana<\/strong>, as\u00ed como las demostraciones de hilado tradicional y tintes naturales<\/strong> y la exposici\u00f3n de fotograf\u00eda trashumante<\/strong> cedida por la Asociaci\u00f3n Naturaleza y Trashumancia, por cortes\u00eda de Jes\u00fas Garz\u00f3n, una de las personas que m\u00e1s lucha en nuestro pa\u00eds por la defensa y puesta en valor de la Trashumancia y el Territorio y cuyo trabajo os iremos dando a conocer. Y felicidades a Clara de la Posada de Ana (donde muy pronto estaremos dando talleres) por ese Kit de Huso que te toc\u00f3 en la rifa!<\/p>\n

Wool Day<\/span><\/h3>\n

As the culmination of complete week of workshops, on Saturday we had the pleasure of sharing our outdoor exhibit about the Process of Wool<\/strong>, our demonstrations on traditional spinning and natural dyes<\/strong>, as well as the exposure of photography about nomadic culture<\/strong>, courtesy of the Transhumance and Nature Association, courtesy of Jesus Garzon, one of the most involved persons in the struggle to defend and value of transhumance and territories, whose work will reveal soon. And congratulations to Clara (from La Posada de Ana, where we will soon be giving workshops) by the kit (to learn how to spin with spindle) that she gained at the raffle!<\/span><\/p>\n
